bp Portugal will offset the carbon emissions resulting from the more than 96,000 litres of fuel consumed during the four days of the WRC Vodafone Rally de Portugal, the Automobile Club of Portugal race.

The consumption of petrol 98, WRC petrol, diesel and jet fuel was estimated by ACP, and includes all the vehicles involved in the race, from the competition cars to the organisation, control, security, helicopters, GNR and Fire Brigade.

The compensation will be made through bp Target Neutral, and the emissions calculated on a Tank to Wheel basis, covering fuel consumption during the race.
