Ryanair strikes sustainable fuel deal with Eni mobility company, Enilive, to provide up to 33 million gallons of Sustainable Aviation Fuels at Italian airports.

Ryanair states this is enough fuel to power 20,000 flights from Milano Malpensa Airport to Dublin.

The new deal will help Ryanair in cutting aircraft carbon emissions and reaching their decarbonisation goal of using 12.5% sustainable fuel by 2030 and reaching “net zero” emissions 20 years later, as predicted by Thomas Fowler, Ryanair’s director of sustainability.

The air travel industry maintains that this is the simplest way to cut carbon output as the EU recently passed new laws requiring that aircraft fly on 70 % renewable fuels by 2050.
