On 14 October 2024 Livorno celebrated an important milestone in its industrial history: the 85 years of the Eni refinery, a plant that has gone through wars, transformations and innovations.

An event that happily overlapped with the laying of the first stone of the new biorefinery, which represents yet another step towards decarbonisation and energy sustainability for the country.

The new facility, which will be operational by 2026, will use technology Eco-fining™ to transform waste raw materials, agri-food residues and vegetable oils.
