The MB Energy group has reached a further milestone in its commitment to invest in the development of a more sustainable hydrogen infrastructure: in addition to the recently inaugurated hydrogen refueling station for heavy duty vehicles (HDVs) in Lübeck, the company has signed an agreement, effective 1st January 2026, to purchase a hydrogen refueling station in Neumünster.
Designed for trucks, with a maximum capacity of up to 2,000 kg of hydrogen refuelling per day, the station was inaugurated by Hypion in November 2023. With a convenient location in the Neumünster logistics hub, close to the A7 motorway, the automated hydrogen filling station is publicly accessible for refuelling both trucks and cars. It was the first 2-tons hydrogen refuelling station in Europe compliant with the EU’s Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), which mandates hydrogen refuelling stations every 200 km along the Trans-European TEN-T corridors and at urban hubs by 2030.
