Repsol, a pioneer in producing 100% renewable gasoline on an industrial scale

[DISPLAY_ULTIMATE_PLUS]

Repsol achieves a new technological milestone by producing gasoline of 100% renewable origin on an industrial scale. This milestone, carried out at its Tarragona complex, places Spain and the company at the forefront of energy transition.

This new product, of 100% renewable origin, is compatible with petrol vehicles, without the need for modifications. Its use reduces net CO₂ emissions by more than 70% compared to conventional petrol. Nexa 95 gasoline of 100% renewable origin – Repsol’s highest quality 95-octane product – is already available at 20 service stations in the Community of Madrid and Catalonia, and it is expected to have 30 by the end of this year, in cities such as Tarragona, Valencia, Zaragoza and Bilbao.

Repsol thus begins the expansion of its renewable fuel offer, by adding this new product to the Nexa Diesel of 100% renewable origin, demonstrating that the decarbonization of transport using renewable liquid fuels is viable in combustion engines, whether gasoline, diesel or hybrid. These vehicles represent 97% of both the Spanish and European vehicle fleets and 87% of sales in Spain so far this year.
