The completion of the Southampton to London Pipeline (SLP) installation project marks a significant milestone in strengthening the UK’s aviation fuel infrastructure and supporting the sector’s transition to lower‑carbon operations.

The project delivers upgraded on‑site facilities designed to increase jet fuel capacity and improve the resilience of supply to London’s major airports.

A central outcome of the upgrade is the enhanced ability to transport greater volumes of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

By modernising key sections of the pipeline and expanding throughput capability, the SLP now provides a more efficient route for moving SAF into the capital, helping airlines access the cleaner fuels needed to meet industry and government decarbonisation goals.
